People who built oppressive systems look like me and are routinely positioned to perpetuate and reinforce these structures in classrooms. My work is not to tell someone else’s story; it is about dismantling systems upholding inequality. It is about white accountability and maintaining a level of seeing what cannot be unseen. This is about my people, the purveyors of violence, and our duty to eradicate systems and structures we designed to sustain racial animus. It is our responsibility to ensure its destruction.
